Together, we can help them navigate the college preparation process with confidence and achieve their academic dreams.

After a brief illness, Helen Bawak, a beloved daughter, niece, friend, and student passed away on September 29, 2021. Known for her joyfulness and kindness, she enriched her community with her intelligence and empathy. Helen was a hardworking and dedicated student with aspirations of becoming a doctor to help heal others. In addition to her academics, Helen volunteered at the American Red Cross as a blood donor ambassador and participated in dance as her most significant extracurricular activity. She was also a member of Girls Support Girls, Mosaic, and Marist's Black Student Alliance, where she helped foster a sense of belonging for black students.

At the young age of eight, Helen expressed to her mother that going to college was not an option but a must. Although she tragically did not get the opportunity to attend college, her family and community want to honor her memory and aspirations by helping other first and second-generation high school students in Georgia fulfill their own dreams of going to college. The Helen Bawak's Leap of Faith Foundation aims to provide these students and their parents with the necessary information and support to navigate the college admission process effectively.
